My mission is to equip our future leaders with the right mindset and best practices that allows them to design and build a better future.
I believe our current management practices belong to the Industrial era. Mass production, with no room for innovation, the systems of “one-boss-knows-it-all-so-follow-orders”, once-a-year performance reviews of our people, streamlining processes…I could go on. All these outdated models and practices are frankly not working.
I’m in constant search, experimentation and promotion of new leadership and management practices to:
1- Help clients
2- Make companies work better and
3- Look after people and communities
I’ve found Agile framework helps with all three of these things.
I became an advocate for the Agile Framework right from the time I was a software developer. Though back then it wasn’t called Agile and I didn’t know the changes we put in place was called transformation.

I tuned in when I heard: AGILE says no to micromanaging!
I had two issues. The thought that team leaders or managers needed to walk around telling people what needed to be done has never sat well with me. My parents can expand on that.
The second one, as I took bigger responsibilities and my team grew from 5 to 10 to 45 to 75 and upwards, I didn’t have the capacity to think about every single person to make sure everyone was working on the right thing, had enough to work on and wasn’t overloaded.
So when Agile introduced a new style of running the show, I started my research and practice. My first Agile Experience was in 2008 when I was in Silicon Valley.
My next question was:
Does this model apply to larger sized organisations? How large? Now, many years later, I lead complete Agile Transformations for organisations in Australia, Europe, USA and East Asia.
These days I mostly work with executives that would like to embed Agile in their organisation.

Why did I design these Agile Programs?
[/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”3.17.6″]
One of my core values is transfer of knowledge. Once we find something that works we are responsible to share it. Here is a common scenario for an executive: You know what needs to be done to start changing your teams operating model, have money to hire consultants and to train people.
See if you resonate with my two frustrations:

When I was running programs or delivering products using Agile, I knew what needed to be done, I just needed a mini check-in with someone who was an expert, someone hands on, who has done this before but unfortunately, I didn’t know anyone I could call and say “hey, this is my plan”, and be told “yes, cool” or maybe “Think of this…or do this first…”

I kinda stumbled my way through becoming someone that comfortably said I-know-what-I-am-doing and let-me-help-you in field of Agile Delivery and Transformation. See, it wasn’t like university where I received a curriculum and homework. The exam questions are not out there and it’s not all that well planned. In real life, courses were two-days long, with no access to a trainer after the course, and most of the time the trainers aren’t doers.

I like the best of both worlds. Business is where I get to know the customer, their needs and motives and technology is where I get to play with shiny, new things. And that’s by design. When I guide executives to design their transformation programs, I make sure we are operating in the intersection of these two domains.

I AM A PROUD SUPPORTER OF THE YARRA FOUNDATION
When I was a kid, I always had this vision that I’d be traveling and living in other parts of the world. And I did.
I owe this to my dad’s books in our home library. Classics, psychology, management, motivational texts, novels, biographies, history, and politics – you name it, he had it.
Reading his books fired my imagination and was the fuel for my dreams.
Structured or unstructured education allows children to imagine the world and the future. And we know, imagination is the first step in building the world we want.
I donate a large part of my income from these courses to the Yarra Foundation.

I BELIEVE IN ONE WORLD … I TRY TO HELP THE FAR CORNERS
I AM privileged to be able to live my dream.
Each time I go on stage to talk, paid or unpaid, I make a donation to Doctors Without Borders, and I share that fact with guests, hoping that what I talk about (even if it’s about running a successful business and not so much about human rights) inspires others to take small actions. Words can reach a wider audience, and as the audience circle grows, the good spreads. It’s simple. It. Is. Powerful.
